I’d done a little research on-line and settled for the Fender ’57 Mini Twin for a number of reasons, namely: Imagine my amusement when I walked into the store, asked for the Fender [Mini] Twin, and was shown to the full-sized amplifier. The sales rep’s face was priceless when I told him I planned to hook it up to an ukulele. Then, I explained that he’d misunderstood me and I was looking for the smaller version.
But the truth is, I’m quite surprised by how well it has performed.
HELP!!!! Door speakers quit working!
One thing I learned pretty early in life is that speakers are not meant to be wired together in a haphazard manner. In fact, whenever you plan to connect more than two speakers to a two-channel amplifier — or more than four speakers to a four-channel amp — there are a few things to consider, not the least of which is the amps ability to handle low-impedance loads. Ignoring the basics is like playing Russian roulette with your amplifier: If youre lucky, itll drive the speakers without incident; if youre not, the amp will fry.
The great thing about a multiple-speaker hookup is that once you master only two basic wiring procedures — “series” and “parallel” — the world is yours to conquer.
To hook up speakers to an amp, you will need: Speakers. An amplifier. Speaker cables. A flashlight. Turn the power off and unplug the amp’s power cable from the outlet. This may seem silly, but it is better to be safe than sorry, especially if this is the first time you’ve connect speakers to an amp in your life.
One of the amplifiers powers the front “woofers” and the other powers the rear “woofers” All 4 tweeters are powered by the internal amplifier of the stock radio. I do not recommend using the new CD palyer to run the tweeters. It would help me to know exactly what Infinity reference speakers you are using, coaxials, component set, actual part ‘s The factory tweeters have no crossovers or bass blockers on them so if you run the Kenwood deck internal amp to them they will distort at a very low volume.
If you use only the new Infinity speakers and the new 4 channel amp you will get the best possible sound. When installing a new deck into the car you will need a harness that plugs into the factory radio plug. Metra part This harness is wired to the harness that comes with the new radio that you are installing. The only wires that you will need to connect are as follows: Yellow 12 volts constant , Red 12 volts switched , Black ground.
Here is a picture of the metra harness. View attachment Here are two basic diagrams that I drew up, both show the same thing but one might be easier to understand. This is only showing the speaker wires and the yellow, red, black wires needed to hook up the new CD player.

The following is the most basic system. It involves a head unit HU and 2 pairs of speakers which are driven by the head unit’s internal amplifier. You can see that the battery terminal of the HU is connected to a constant source of power the battery with an inline fuse. The accessory wire for the HU is connected to a power source which only has power when the ignition switch is in the ‘on’ or ‘acc’ positions.
A volt commercial-grade amp can drive many more speakers than a comparably priced residential-grade amp. It’s easy to add speakers later on. And you’ll need much less wire. Cost savings can be substantial with volt systems, but system planning is more complicated.
Tungsten So I took the crappy 9 speaker Alpine “Premium” system out of my car. I had the speakers replaced once already by the dealer and I am not replacing the same crappy speakers again so they can blow 2 weeks later. I went out and bought the following to redo my car’s audio system. After a couple hours I got a call from the technician there explaining to me how he cannot get a signal to my speakers.
He let me hear an example of how the speakers sounded and they sounded super quiet and low. He then mentioned to me that the factory head unit and the factory Watt Alpine amp was to blame. Catch was it was bucks. Not paying that much when I was told install would be , paid for my speakers, and was told I had everything I needed but the line out converter which is 15 bucks.
Anyone have any past experience with this issue and I am doing research like crazy on this to find out what I need? Would this work for only the subwoofer or the speakers as well?

I’ve got my door panel off, and I’m looking at quarter inch grey foam on top of the plastic sheet that is covering up all wiring from the stereo and from the tweeter. Basically, I can remove the woofer, but since I can’t see any of the other wiring not to mention there are 4 wires coming out of the tweeter , I have no idea which wires to cut. Now that I look at the diagram, the wiring is going from the stereo to the tweeter and from the tweeter to the woofer.
